Mrs. Quinn's Class
Students in Mrs. Quinn's class took a walk on the nature trail and identified plants according to their structures (vascular, cones, monocot and dicot).

Butterfly Project
Seventh grade students at the Middle School of Pacolet recently participated in the Butterfly Project. Students illustrated a butterfly and then wrote a poem. These will be sent to the Holocaust Museum in Houston, Texas, and will be included in an exhibition in remembrance of the children who died in the Holocaust.
B.E. Mays Program
On March 30th, MSP hosted their annual B. E. Mays Program. This program is to commemorate the late B.E.Mays.

College Tour
The Black History Club at MSP recently attended a college tour, of South Carolina State in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Middle School Students Go High-Tech With Robotics

Middle school students grasping floating plastic balls with robotic arms, using joysticks to transfer them to a holding tank. A new game? No. These students are learning pre- engineering skills and concepts through an innovative robotics course at both Cowpens Middle School (CMS) and Middle School of Pacolet (MSP). This class expands District Three’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives, paving the way to higher skill attainment and career and college readiness.
Junior Scholars
James Hall, Daphine Mullinax, Holly Raines, and Fabian Salinas were recognized for their academic achievement, on the PSAT in a ceremony held at Converse College, for Junior Scholars.

Students Learn Latin
Eleven students are participating in an online virtual school program. The students will earn credits for participating in this program.

Congratulations to Daphine Mullinax, Holly Raines, James Hall, and Fabian Salinas for being named The Middle School of Pacolet’s 2011-2012 Junior Scholar recipients. These students were selected based upon their PSAT scores. They will be recognized in a county wide recognition ceremony taking place at Converse College in February.
